Why the charity was founded
When I told people I was starting a neurodiversity charity I was mocked and laughed at. I would get comments like “neurodiversity would never work” and “ you can’t change the thought, learning and thinking process of the way humans have been conditioned for hundreds of years!!! Just because we have been conditioned this way does not always mean it’s right!!
Tees Valley Buddies want a world where everyone’s neurology is embraced and celebrated.
We don’t want to hide and pretend anymore we want to be ourselves! We want the freedom to think, learn and act in the way that comes naturally to us. We don’t want to fit in we want to belong!!!!
Our ever growing team at Tees Valley Buddies and our members all share this vision. We believe it’s time for a change.
It is time to make our voices heard so they matter!!
Everyday we get messages from the neurodiverse community thanking us for speaking up for them and other neurodiverse people.
“Alone we can do so little but together we can do so much”
